2023 Art Workshop 4001 Color Theory Class |Professor Sisavanh Houghton
What is Expected:
This class will meet MTWR from 9 AM-330PM and runs from May 22nd-June 8th in rooms 232 and 233. We meet only for eleven class periods so don’t miss a class. Six and a half hours seems like a long time, but you get a lot done, and it goes fast. We will have a lunch break from 12-1245PM. I will cover a lot of content, demonstrate processes, and review the assignments during class time. We will meet on the first day of class the whole time, so do not expect to leave early. I will review the assignments and syllabus and hand out the supplies. This class will be very hands-on and direct in processes and material. I will update class assignments, schedules, syllabi, and research on D2L. We will be creating a lot of work, and you will learn a lot using gouache and various materials, but you will be able to insert your aesthetics for each prompted assignment.
Attendance:
You may only miss one in-class day. The second day you miss, your overall grade will be dropped by one letter grade. If you miss three in-class days, it will be an automatic F unless you have a Doctor’s Note
**We must meet on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so do not fill it with “Life Stuff like- working” You need to be available during those hours.
Materials:
I will provide you with all your essential materials for this class unless you create a particular piece. So, you do not need to buy any supplies. You can store your materials in a Taboret or a locker. You will have plenty of room. I will provide the following: gouache paint, watercolor paper, sketchbook, brushes, color wheel, and palette.
